Finals week of the Schools Cup gets cracking at 11am on Tuesday at Sixways Stadium as Hutton Grammar and Judd meet for the U15 Schools Bowl final.

At the home of Worcester Warriors it will be a massive occasion for both sets of players and a hugely proud moment for both schools.

Hutton’s journey to the final has been pretty serene, in the six games they have conceded in just three, including a 17-0 semi final win over Ilkley Grammar School.

Indeed the only game where anyone has scored more than ten against them was way back in the opening round when AKS Lytham lost 31-24. Since then they have marched relentlessly towards this date at Sixways and have looked outstanding.

Perhaps we should not be surprised, they only went out of the Vase by the tightest of margins, drawing against Ullswater but going out as Ullswater had scored first. This is a strong side.

So too are Judd though, and a side with good knockout pedigree. They reached the U15 Cup final in 2009, losing to a top class Millfield side, and at U18 level they reached the quarter finals in 2017 and 2018.

In this U18 Bowl competitions they have been excellent, perhaps not quite as dominant as Hutton Grammar, but still very strong. Their 22-14 victory over City of London Freemen’s in the semi final was a cracking result against another good side, setting them up well for a crack at this final.

Both sides will no doubt be excited, it is the sort of opportunity that so few schools rugby players get and it stays with every single one that does forever.

The stadium will be busy, the crowds excited, and we should have an absolutely fantastic game of rugby on our hands.
