After a reduced fixture list last week, there is a strong schools rugby fixture list this weekend.
The weather has unfortunately hampered a few games, and with more snow forecast, the likelihood is that more will be called off tomorrow morning.
The action begins on Friday night with two big games on professional clubs’ artificial surfaces.
St Benedict’s host Whitgift at Ealing Trailfinders for what promises to be a fantastic game. Games between these two are always tense and exciting, and Friday night’s game should be do different under the lights.
Over in South West London there is a fantastic fixture on Rosslyn Park’s 4G pitch as Wimbledon College host St George’s College Weybridge for their 125th Anniversary game. The club played host to an excellent game between Brighton College and Seaford College on Tuesday, and Friday’s night’s game should be no different.
There is an exciting triangular tournament featuring Brighton College, Millfield, and Portsmouth Grammar School, which is almost certain to produce some outstanding rugby over the course of the day.
QEGS Wakefield and RGS High Wycombe face each other next Friday, but both are also in action on Saturday, QEGS are at home to Altrincham Grammar School, while RGS were scheduled to be away at Tiffin, but that has been cancelled.
There is a huge game is Scotland as Merchiston Castle host Dollar Academy while there is a cross border clash for Mount St Mary’s as they host Llandovery College.
High flying Woodhouse Grove host Crossley Heath, while there is another big game as Solihull travel to a Sir Thomas Rich’s side who beat MIllfield in midweek. St Olave’s Grammar, meanwhile, host Gravesend Grammar and Oswestry travel to Shrewsbury.
